The iconic Navitimer was born in '54. when Willy Breitling created a wrist-worn chronograph with a slide rule. The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Assoc. (AOPA) adopted it. making it the official timepiece of hundreds of US aviators. Astronaut Scott Carpenter even took it to space. But its style also appealed to others. notably stars like Miles Davis and Serge Gainsbourg.
